Andrea Jeremiah

Andrea Maria Jeremiah has worked as an actress as well as a musician, playback singer and actress in Tamil films as well as Malayalam film. She first made an appearance as an actor in Tamil movie Pachaikili Muthucharam and also made her Malayalam debut with Annayum raolum. Andrea Jeremiah comes from an Anglo-Indian family background. She was born to a Madras High Court attorney. Her younger sister is a Belgian research assistant who works in Leuven. Jeremiah was born near Chennai and attended National Public School and graduated from Women's Christian College. Andrea started studying classical piano at the age of eight. Andrea was a huge enthusiast who aspired to become a psychiatrist. She sang in The Jackson Five style troupe Young Stars when she was 10. It was this group that shaped her musical and singing career. In her college she was also an actor and appeared in stage plays organized by The Madras Players. Andrea was the President of Women's College's Student Senate. Andrea began her theatre career by appearing in Girish Karnad's Nagamandala. In 2006, she starred in a brand new advertisement for Leo alongside actor Shiva. In 2006, she appeared in a show that was broadcast on Podhigai. She has performed throughout India. She played a minor role on the Kanda Mudhal finale (2005). Gautham Menon enlisted Andrea to play the lead role after she sang in Vettaiyaadu Vilaiyaadu. Andrea performed the role of Kalyani, a housewife who's husband is involved in been involved in an affair. The character was allegedly threatened with a blackmail. Andrea was selected for the part after Simran and Tabu were two actors who were approached by producers. The movie was announced in the early part of 2010. She agreed in 2011 to take on a small support role in Venkatprabhu's multi-starrer Mankatha, which released in August 2011, In 2013, she made her debut in Malayalam cinema by playing Rajeeev Ravi's romantic movie, Annayum Rasoolum.
